Hunt Afognak

Remote Alaska hunts from our Kodiak Wilderness Lodge

Kodiak Island Hunts

Boat-access hunts across the coastlines, forests, and mountains of north Afognak Island.

Hunting on Afognak

Hunting on Afognak Island is an active pursuit, covering ground, watching weather and sea conditions, and adjusting to whatever the day brings.

Over 50 years ago, our family built this lodge from the ground up on a remote stretch of coastline, and we have been here ever since. There is no road access, only by floatplane or boat, and that is part of what keeps it pristine. This terrain supports strong populations of Kodiak brown bear, Sitka blacktail deer, and Roosevelt elk. Hunts begin on the water, glassing by boat before going ashore and continuing on foot.

Back at the Lodge

A warm base after long days in the field.

Return to private log cabins, hot meals, and a warm place to dry gear and regroup before the next day’s hunt. It is a comfortable setup, built for hunters, and shaped by decades of use in this environment.

Built Through Experience

Established on Afognak Island in 1963

What began as a simple hunting camp by Roy and Shannon Randall more than 50 years ago has grown into a place where we continue to welcome hunters to this unique area. The same values we started with: hard work, respect for the island, and taking care of our guests, guide us to this day.
